Up the Maggies
What's New

February 2023
Filled in most of the remaining missing goal times for seasons 1980/81 through to 1988/89, the majority sourced from The Nottingham Footnall Post or Monday editions of the Evening Post. Also noted v Chesterfield on 19th October 1985 Notts netted a spot-kick at the 3rd attempt, Alan Young having seen the first attempt saved but only for the ref to order a re-take as the keeper had moved too early and was booked for protesting, Young scored with the 2nd attempt but the ref wasn't ready and then Mark Goodwin stepped up to make it 2-1 and that's how it finished. A missing 1980s red card too, Darren Davis sent off for a 2nd bookable offence in the League Cup 1st Round 1st Leg home clash with Port Vale on 26th August 1986.

July 2022
The 'Club Records' section now has links for Notts' league sequences and records at each level of the pyramid, see 1st tier example here.
All clubs who have played at level 6 and higher are now in the database, see a list of clubs and their last season spent in tier 6 here, team names can be clicked on for that club's all time record in the top 6 tiers.

January 2022
Added 'moved up' and 'moved down' arrows to the 'on this day' league tables, these will only show up on days when games have been played.
We now have a current form table for the contemporary season, the default is 'last six' but you can change it up to the previous 12 and select home or away results only, see here. If you're still seeing the programme gallery on this page, press F5 or reload the page. There is now a text link to the current form table underneath the various tables on the match day pages.

November 2021
Updated the Ground History page with details of the proposed merger with Nottingham Forest in 1931 and references to the majority of changes in ownership or chairman throughout the first 100 years. Note also that Notts wore chocolate and blue halves for the entire 1934/35 campaign and not just for a handful of games as claimed in the official history books. As Notts were relegated in last place that season, it is perhaps reasonable to surmise that County may have persisted with the alternate colours had the team not performed so very badly in them.

Added Next Match and Previous Match arrow links to the match day pages, below the league and stats tables. Replays, 1st leg, 2nd leg, 2nd replays etc. are now more clearly stated as such directly below the competition and round details.

Filled in the majority of missing goal times for seasons 1986/87, 1987/88 and 1988/89, also the latter half of 1985/86, mostly from the Derby Evening Telegraph reports.

Lists of cup ties that Notts would have contested had they won the replay in the previous round or a postponed tie played after the draw for the next round had been made are now available for the FA Cup here and League Cup here. You can click on the footballs to see which games Notts lost to miss out on.

As well as manager stats, we now have ownership records, though some of the dates of transition are somewhat arbitrary - the passing of the baton between Hopcroft and Dunnett for example, with Dunnett having been 'Acting Chairman' for several months following Hopcroft's medical condition, also the confusing period between Administration and Jeff Moore being appointed chairman by the Trust in 2006. Chairman in the early days of the club may not have been the majority share holder, being elected into the role.

I've also turned off some of the dynamic SVG graphics on the carousel.royalwebhosting.net hosted pages to decrease the amount of traffic being downloaded from that sever and hopefully avoiding the site going down towards the end of every month. Many link buttons on that server have now been replaced with text links.

October 2021
Added pages to list all Notts results in the Anglo-Italian Cup, the Anglo-Scottish Cup, other minor FL Competitions and the FA Trophy. These can all be accessed by clicking on the trophy graphics or competition logos whenever they appear. Also added the 50 highest and lowest gate lists for the FA Cup and the League Cup. You can switch to Away gates or combine home and away gates via the links at the bottom of that page.
For cup-ties with no specific league position details already entered, the line-ups/results/tables page will now work out which league the two clubs were in at the time the game took place. An example here.

July 2021
Notts line-ups for seasons 1967/68 through to 2000/01 are now generated from a player database. Clicking on a player's name will take you to a page which lists that player's debut date and age at the time, the last game he played plus a list of all games scored in (if any). You can also list squads for these seasons and sort them by year of birth, debut date or last played via this page. Clicking on a year of birth will take you to the league table (or match played) on the date that player was born.

January 2021
Added a league goalscorers list to each of the main season pages (below the appearance stats).
The 'on this day' pages of results and tables now have an average PPG table. There is also a footnote of overall average home and away goals per game plus average home wins, away wins and draws per game. For non-current seasons, I've added a link towards the bottom of the page to go straight to the end of season (rather than having to change the date).
On the manager stats page, after you click on a name for his all time list of results, there's now a records button (gold cup) at the bottom of the results page that will list all of the records under that manager only (most consective wins etc).

December 2020
All Notts scorers and attendances now added for every fixture dating back to the first FA Cup tie in 1877.
Opponents scorers v Notts complete for the following clubs: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea (with goal times), Everton, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Leeds United, Liverpool (with goal times), Manchester City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth, Sunderland (with goal times), Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
Goals times added for most matches played 1954/55 trough to the end of 1957/58 plus other 1950s matches of significance.
Line-ups and notes now integrated from 1968/69 to the end of 1998/99.

October 2020
Line-ups and match notes for seasons 1969/70 through to 1995/96 have now been incorporated into the database, also added missing goal times to many 1970s fixtures.
1968/69 now includes Notts line-ups plus sporadic match notes.
RIP Richie Barker

September 2020
Added league histories for all clubs that have played in the top five tiers. Select a season via this page, then click on a team name to list final positions up to that season, the lists also detail ground re-locations, appearances in cup finals and changes of name.
Fixed a bug which was listing the 1957/58 playing staff on the 1956/57 stats page.
Added attendance's and scorers for 1909/10, the last season at Trent Bridge.

May 2020
A new 'live' Club Records page is now up and running here, an all-time table of games against other clubs here and a revised attendance's stats page with additional options at the foot of the page here. Date parameters can be set via this page.

March 2020
The results database is now complete all the way back to Notts' first FA Cup tie in 1877, results and match by match league positions are also now available for every single club that competed in the same division as Notts from 1888/89 to the present day.

A new page has been added which details Manager Records, see here. This can be sorted into PPG order, win percentage order, number of games in charge etc. There are also 'pyramid positions' for each manager's high and low as well as the position they left the club in (so for example 44th in the current set up would be bottom of the 2nd tier, 45th would be 1st in the 3rd tier).

The 'Head to Head' page has been expanded to include additional information which calculates stats for all league games played. Venues have also been added for most clubs dating back to their formation, so we can now see how many times Notts played Everton at Anfield, if and when we played Manchester United at their former homes etc. Click on the mini footballs next to the scorers to view the league table after the corresponding game had been played.
